A Lifelong Journey in Science, Art, and Community
Beverly SmithKeiling is a lifelong learner with explorations of her artistic expression through written works of poetry, non-fiction, young adult fiction, fiction, and collaborative art exhibitions. Having lived across the United States and around the globe, her work explores belonging and community in our global human experience.
As author of her scientific and social publications and lifelong professor and educator, she uses her name Beverly Smith-Keiling, PhD, MPH. She graduated from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, and worked as a research scientist at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Ok, before the medical school closure.
After transferring to the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, she earned her PhD in Microbiology, did postdoctoral work, taught undergraduate biochemistry and medical education, and earned her MPH, focusing on community public health to integrate this experience into her written work. She has published with her husband and continues to live in various places as they are called together.
